One of the students at Alfa Centauri Middle School, Haidar Najid M, was successfully selected through a competitive process to be part of the contingent for the 12th National Jamboree (Jamnas) of the Scout Movement in 2026, which will be held August 13–20, 2026, at the Cibubur Scout Campground and Tourism Center (Buperta) in East Jakarta. Jamnas is a national event held once every five years, and this year’s theme is “Creativity, Innovation, Skill, and Self-Reliance to Support Food Self-Sufficiency,” with the motto “Berkreasi, Berinovasi, Terampil dan Mandiri untuk Mendukung Swasembada Pangan”. Haidar is one of 64 participants representing the city of Bandung at the event. Before their departure, the Bandung City contingent was sent off by the Mayor of Bandung at Bandung City Hall on Monday, August 10, 2026.
Being selected to join the contingent for the 12th National Scout Jamboree is a truly valuable opportunity. This event provided a space for all participants to learn through hands-on experiences alongside Scouts from various regions across Indonesia, while also honing their independence, skills, leadership, and teamwork abilities, as well as broadening their horizons and fostering friendships. This experience was a crucial part of Haidar’s educational journey, representing both Alfa Centauri Junior High School and the City of Bandung, while also providing him with a national experience that not every student has the opportunity to gain.
