The Village Center activity was one of the most memorable learning experiences for Alfa Centauri Junior High School students. Through this program, students were invited to learn firsthand from the lives of rural communities, understanding the values of hard work, togetherness, and independence that characterize rural life. During the activity, students were involved in various real-life activities such as farming in the fields, planting and harvesting crops with local farmers, and learning the process of packaging agricultural products before they are sold at the market. Through this experience, students understood that every food item they consume is the result of long and dedicated work. In addition, students also had the opportunity to interact directly with villagers, listen to their stories, and learn how the community manages their lives simply but meaningfully. Teaching children in the village was also a heartwarming experience that fostered empathy and instilled a sense of social responsibility in the students. Through the Village Center, students not only learn about agriculture or the local economy, but also about humanity, caring, and mutual cooperation. It is hoped that this experience will foster an awareness that knowledge and kindness can grow anywhere—including from the simplicity of village life.

Hundreds of teachers and students enthusiastically attended The 4th Practice Asian Exchange event themed “Through Lesson Study for Learning Community” held at the Alfa Centauri Junior High School Hall, Bandung, on Friday (8/29/2025). The event featured keynote speaker Prof. Masami Isoda, Ph.D. from the University of Tsukuba, Japan, as well as three speakers from Japan: Sensei Takasi Morimoto, Sensei Hidemi Tanaka, and Sensei Tatsumi Sumi. From Indonesia, Arif Hidayat, S.Pd., M.Si., Ph.D.Ed., a representative from the Indonesian Lesson Study Association (ALSI), was also present, along with teachers from Alfa Centauri Elementary School who presented their teaching practices in the hall. This event was also attended by representatives from the West Java Education Office, the Bandung City Education Office, the Taqwa Cerdas Kreatif Foundation, and a number of partner schools in the Bandung area. Around 100 participants attended this event as observers, consisting of teachers from Alfa Centauri and ALSI network schools. They learned firsthand about the application of the Open Lesson Model, a method that allows teachers to learn from real classroom practices. Through observation and joint reflection, teachers can evaluate strengths and areas for improvement. This method fosters a collaborative culture and encourages continuous improvement. With this theme, the event became a forum for teachers to develop their teaching creativity through collective reflection and shared learning, in line with the spirit of building a learning community promoted by the Japanese concept of Lesson Study.

The theme “Igniting Passion For Growth: Learning, Leading, and Inspiring Together” emphasizes that meaningful growth starts with a genuine desire to learn and improve. IHT is not just a training session, but a shared space to strengthen one another as learners, leaders, and sources of inspiration. Through collaboration, everyone in the school community is encouraged not only to embrace change, but to take an active role in creating it. This shared spirit of continuous learning will become the foundation for a more progressive, inclusive, and transformative school culture at SMP Alfa Centauri.

Alhamdulillah, SMP Alfa Centauri dapat memenuhi undangan yang berasal dari Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini, Pendidikan Dasar, Dan Pendidikan Menengah (Kementerian Pendidikan Dasar Dan Menengah) sebagai Narasumber kegiatan “Identifikasi Kebutuhan Kajian Media Digitalisasi Pembelajaran”. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kebutuhan informasi terkait media digitalisasi pembelajaran serta menganalisis efektivitas media digital dalam mendukung proses pembelajaran. Sekolah yang diundang adalah sekolah yang pemanfaatan pembelajaran digital dengan kategori sangat baik, baik, sedang dan kurang. Alhamdulilaah SMP Alfa Centauri termasuk kedalam sekolah dengan kondisi pemanfaatan pembelajaran digital sangat baik. Adapun hal-hal yang dibahas dalam pertemuan tersebut adalah: Profil sekolah, profil peralatan sekolah digital, pemanfataan pelajaran digital, Kebijakan sekolah terkait pemanfaatan peralatan TIK (visi, misi, program kerja, SOP, jadwal penggunaan, jadwal perawatan), Aplikasi/LMS yang digunakan oleh sekolah dalam pembelajaran. Focus grup discussion ini selain dihadiri oleh beberapa sekolah dihadiri juga oleh dosen-dosen yang mengkaji bagaimana digitalisasi pembelajaran. SMP Alfa Centauri mendapatkan apresiasi yang sangat baik terkait digitalisasi pembelajaran yang sudah dilakukan SMP Alfa Centauri.

The seminar "Keep Calm, Parents! Anti-Stress Tips for Handling Gen Z & Alpha" was held with parents of students as participants and featured Dr. Irianti Usman, M.A., an expert in child and adolescent psychology, as the guest speaker. During the event, Dr. Irianti shared insights on the unique characteristics of Generation Z and Alpha, specifically their mindsets, behaviors, and the digital challenges they encounter. Parents received practical tips on managing stress while supporting their children, emphasizing the importance of positive communication, empathy, and an understanding of psychological development. This seminar aimed to strengthen parent-child relationships and create an environment that fosters healthy mental development, particularly in facing the challenges of Generation Z and Alpha.

This Study Tour Plus Umrah is in collaboration with PT Dago Wisata Internasional, held from December 24 2024 until January 2 2025, apart from visiting Al-Azhar and Ummul Qura Universities, an educational program is also provided, namely traveling down the Nile River by cruise ship visiting the Pyramids and Spinx, Pilgrimage to the tomb of Imam Syafii, and optionally visiting the Mummy Museum
